This Thursday

For the career singles, we’ll have a meeting this Thursday to talk about the new CGs. Please come to the meeting at 7:30pm this Thursday (8/2) in the Guest Reception room on the main level. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

[If you saw the post earlier, it said 8/9, but 8/2 is the correct date. Thanks Luke Middleton for the correction.]

Accountability Group Resources

Vince and I had the joy of spending an evening with the college group to talk about pursuing fellowship in accountability groups. Here are some resources that might be helpful as you pursue fellowship with other believers:

Lunch with the New Caregroup Leaders

Attention, career singles…

Now that you know who your CGLs are going to be, I’m sure you’re eager to meet them and get to know them, so… We’re organizing a lunch (free food!) on

Sunday, 7/22 after the service at 12:30pm in the Basement Auditorium

so you can meet the new CGLs and their wives.

This will be a great opportunity for you to get to know your new leaders before you start meeting as a CG, so please be thinking about what questions to ask them, what you can do to get to know them better, etc. Please RSVP to Christine Hawes (703-691-0600) by no later than Wednesday, 7/18 so we know how much food to buy. I look forward to seeing you all there! And don’t worry, we won’t be serving sushi for lunch!

Lightning + iPod = ZZZZZTTTTTT!

For all of you iPod users… Read this article that starts with this line:

"Listen to an iPod during a storm and you may get more than electrifying tunes."

Careful, be very careful…

Meet Our New Caregroup Leaders

Great news! We now have new leaders for the career CGs. For the last couple of years, we have sought to have married couples lead the singles CGs. In His great kindness, God has provided three couples! Hasn’t He been good to us? Here they are:

Marcus & Melanie Leung-Shea

Luke & Kristin Middleton

Joshua & Bethany Taylor

I could say what I respect and appreciate about each couple here, but it’s always better to get to know people in person. So I’ll create a context for you to meet them in person soon. Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming events! If you know these couples already, please communicate your gratefulness for their desire to serve the singles…

Why Women Live Longer Than Men

I recently received an email from a guy who I went to the Pastors College with. The title of the email was "Why Women Live Longer Than Men" and contained the following pictures. Enjoy!
