Prayerful Meditation on Scripture

Mike Bullmore, a pastor from Wisconsin who teaches at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College, will be teaching our church on how to meditate on Scripture. Having been taught by Mike on this topic, I can tell you this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss. I trust you will benefit from Mike’s excellent teaching and compelling example.  I highly recommend this seminar to you. Here’s the scoop:

It’s not too late to sign up! You can call Christine Hawes at the church office (703-691-0600) and register. The seminar will take place in the basement auditorium.

Crossroads Cookout

I hope you’ve enjoyed your summer so far… I can’t believe we’re starting another year soon. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Lord is going to meet us this year.

To welcome you back after the break, we’re having a cookout on Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:

Health Update

By now most of you know that I have contracted what is called ‘Bell’s Palsy‘ while I was in Japan last week. The right side of my face is paralyzed right now, and when I smile, I look like a pirate according to Emma. Here is a picture for your enjoyment… Thankfully, this is a temporary thing, and my doctor is optimistic that it will eventually go away. Though I’m not in pain, it is still uncomfortable. I’d appreciate your prayer for healing, sustaining grace, joy, and absence of complaining so that I can glorify God through this. Thanks!
