The Gospel and Relationships for Guys and Girls

The Na website offers some great articles on a variety of topics (worldview, culture, local church, evangelism, etc. etc.). Here are two articles on relationships. One is for the guys and the other for the girls.

Na08 - Not Too Late!

No, it’s not too late to register for New Attitude! Read CJ Maheney’s enthusiastic endorsement of the conference here. To register, click on the picture above. For those who are going to the conference, I’ll be posting some practical suggestions on how to prepare for and benefit from the conference in the coming weeks.

Doing Things Right in the Matters of the Heart

Here is the book Vince recommended at our Crossroads meeting last night as a great resource on the topic of relationships. Here’s an excerpt:

This book is about doing things right in the matters of the heart. It is for those who know by painful experience, if not by observation, that the postmodern paradigm of meeting up, hooking up, shacking up, and breaking up is bankrupting the rich treasure of love itself. It doesn’t matter that this is what most people are doing. You can see it does not ring true. It does not work. It is time to revolt against the times, to consult the webmaster, to learn how to spot fraud in matters of the heart, and to enter into a relationship as one "who gives thought to his steps" (Proverbs 14:15).

Crossroads Tonight

Just a friendly reminder, we have our monthly Crossroads meeting tonight. Vince will be giving a message on the topic of marriage titled "For This Reason". Now you might be thinking, "Marriage? But we’re singles!" Why should you learn about God’s design of marriage when you’re a single? Come and find out tonight as Vince teaches us from God’s Word. The meeting starts at 7:30pm, coffee at 7pm.

Go Forward Fund

As you’ve heard, we as a church have the privilege of giving to a new special fund called "Go Forward" this coming year. This fund is a way for us to seize opportunities that God has given us to advance our church’s mission to spread the gospel. (For more information on how the fund will be allocated, please check out the pamphlet, which is available at the Welcome Center.)

I want to encourage all of us to prayerfully consider how we can participate in this fund and ask God to show us what giving sacrificially looks like for us. Take some time this week to read through the brochure and prepare your heart to participate in this exciting endeavor as a church! And let’s pray that God would advance His kingdom in our area and around the world as we participate together in our mission.
