Crossroads Tomorrow Night

We have our monthly Crossroads meeting tomorrow night at 7:30pm. This is the last message in the series on James, "Devoted". I’ll be preaching from James 4:13-17 on how we can plan our lives in a way that’s glorifying to God. Feel free to invite your friends. Come early for coffee at 7!

Ladies’ Clothes Swap

As most of you know, our Ladies Clothes Swap outreach event is coming up next Saturday, June 21 from 8-12. This entire basement area will be converted into a free clothes store. There are 3 ways that you can participate:

DROPOFF: MEN & WOMEN can donate clothing items. Please drop them off at church this Sunday or before next Thursday, 6/19.

INVITE: LADIES – please invite your friends to this event!

SERVE – This is where we could really use your help! MEN & WOMEN are needed for this. If you’re willing and available to serve, please contact Melanie Leung-Shea at the church office (703-691-0600) or stop by the table at Crossroads tomorrow night!

NA Post-Conference Help

Be sure to check out the helpful resources the NA website will be providing to help you apply what you heard at the conference. Here are the things they will be posting…

NA Messages Available for Download

For those who went to New Attitude, I trust the Lord has met you in many different ways. The messages from the conference is now available here. If you missed the conference, you can check out the website for pics, etc. and still get a feel of the conference! I’d encourage you to listen to these messages. They will benefit your soul much. My personal favorite was John Piper’s message "Fighting for Faith with God’s Word". He really gave us a picture of what it looks like to fight against temptations using God’s Word. In the coming days, I’ll be giving you some resources to help you apply what you heard at New Attitude.

Video Class

Our friend Andrew Gallo will be teaching a class on videography next month. As many of you know, he is a very gifted guy when it comes to filming, editing, etc., and he makes his living doing this. If you are interested, here’s the church bulletin announcement:

A 3-part videography class taught by Andrew Gallo is being offered here at the church building in Room 102.  The dates will be Friday, June 13th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 14th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Saturday, June 28th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm  Come learn about video making and how it can be used to serve the church.  If you would like to attend, sign up online at www.sovgracefairfax.org/event-registration by June 7th.

Preparing for NA08

New Attitude is just around the corner. I wanted to give you some resources to help you prepare for this conference so you can fully benefit from this conference. First is a document I put together a couple of years ago in preparation for this conference. Second is an interview with the singles pastors at Covenant Life Church called "How Not to Waste This Conference". I hope these resources will be helpful as you pray and prepare your hearts to meet with God at the conference!

Bella

Over the years I’ve found it’s getting harder and harder to find a movie that is worth watching. Many recent movies have a lot of language, sex, violence, etc.
(You can check out what’s in a movie by going to screenit.com before you watch it!) Well, Bella is an exception. Emma and I watched it recently with one of your CGLs and his wife. Obviously, I shouldn’t mention his name because I don’t want to embarrass him by telling you that he was bawling…

Crossroads Tomorrow Night

Don’t forget, we have our monthly Crossroads meeting tomorrow night at 7:30pm. We’re back on our series on the book of James called "Devoted", in which we have looked at different marks of a devoted follower of Jesus. Vince will be delivering a message titled "Got Wisdom?" from James 3:13-18.

Do you consider yourself wise? How do you know? Come listen to what God’s Word has to say about it. Coffee starts at 7pm!

The Gospel and Relationships for Guys and Girls

The Na website offers some great articles on a variety of topics (worldview, culture, local church, evangelism, etc. etc.). Here are two articles on relationships. One is for the guys and the other for the girls.

Na08 - Not Too Late!

No, it’s not too late to register for New Attitude! Read CJ Maheney’s enthusiastic endorsement of the conference here. To register, click on the picture above. For those who are going to the conference, I’ll be posting some practical suggestions on how to prepare for and benefit from the conference in the coming weeks.
