Cross Centered.

I finished reading (again) CJ’s The Cross Centered Life this morning.

CrossCenteredLife

In the next to last chapter, CJ explains that a cross centered life is made of cross centered days. Here’s how:

  1. Memorize the gospel.
  2. Pray the gospel.
  3. Sing the gospel.
  4. Review how the gospel has changed you.
  5. Study the gospel.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the benefits of singing the gospel. I’ve been doing this by listening to Jars of Clay’s new CD, Redemption Songs.

RedemptionSongs

I’ve especially been enjoying the words to “Nothing But The Blood”:

What can wash away my sin?
What can make me whole again?
For my pardon this I see,
For my cleansing this my plea,

Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing, nothing, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Nothing can for sin atone
Not of good that I have done
This is all my hope and peace
This is all my righteousness

Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
And no other fount I know
Nothing, nothing, nothing but the blood of Jesus

Now by this I’ll overcome
Now by this I’ll reach my home
Glory, glory, this I see
All my praise for this I bring

What music has been helping you think about the savior?
