My Retreat Highlights

August 27, 2006 10:16 pm

My highlights are too many to list. But a couple of them include:

  1. All the teaching was excellent; I don’t know how I could pick a favorite message.  But hearing God’s Word preached was definitely the very best part of the retreat.
  2. Watching the display of humility each morning as y’all encouraged one another for God’s grace at work in each other’s lives.
  3. Pastors’ volleyball team record: 2-0.
  4. James O’Donnell saves the day!  Thanks for the sound system, James!
  5. Hearing your excellent insights into Isaiah 40.
  6. 140 retreat registrants.  63 of them were parents.  Wow!
  7. Looks like an M&M.  Shaped like an M&M.  Color like an M&M.  Tastes like a paintball.  Yuck.
  8. “Where My Peeps At?”
  9. Daniel, Aaron, and Melanie’s testimonies.
  10. Worshiping the Savior together.

Some Highlights:

Meditating on Isaiah 40 every morning - I think I finally get the meditation thing now! Who says “you can’t teach old dogs new tricks?” You did it Steve;

Watching God work in the lives of our sons and daughters. What a joy…what a highlight’

Seeing God’s love displayed in his convicting us of sin. Not leaving us to our own way;

Great teaching - Mark and Aron - thanks for serving us by seeing what I don’t see and communicating it clearly to me;

Worshiping a Great God…worship and ministry time…talking with the teen boys and seeing God at work;

Watching so many serve…thanks Mitchell and Daniel for your hard work on Friday night until 2:30 a.m. Your sacrifice of sleep and desire to make a great slide show for all of us was wonderful God glorifying thing!

More later….
