I Need Your Help
December 1, 2006 5:23 pmNext Sunday (December 10), I get to preach from Isaiah 40 to the whole church. You might remember that this is the chapter that we meditated on together at the five15 Retreat in August. What a sweet time that was!
Here’s where I need your help: I want to review some of the ‘God’ and ‘I’ sentences that we did together each morning on the retreat. So, would you please pull out your Moleskine and leave a comment on this post with your favorite ‘God’ and ‘I’ sentences from our meditations together? That would be a big help to me.
Looking forward to what y’all got…
Here were a couple of mine:
“God is infinite, and His vastness is beyond our comprehension or description.â€
“God strengthens the weak; He is compassionate, active, and personal.â€
“I am like a grasshopper in God’s eyes: small, insignificant, and fleeting. This puts my arrogant assessment of my importance back in the proper place.â€
“I will wait on the Lord rather than act out of arrogant self-sufficiency.â€

Thats very humble of you to ask for help Steve. Here are two I wrote down:
God both comes with might (v.10) and leads us gently (v. 11).
I am nothing and empty compared to God (v. 17).
We’ll be praying for you as you prepare the messege.
Some sentences that I have that I like are:
1) God takes counsel from no one, no one has taught him enything.
2) God counts the nations as less than nothing.
I hope this helps!
