This evening, we indulged in our of our cheesiest favorite Christmas traditions: the Festival of Lights. For the uninitiated, the Festival of Lights is a three-mile car tour through Bull Run Regional Park, a scenic journey through a couple dozen lights displays of reindeer, snowmen, tin soldiers, and candy canes. Jack loved it.
On the way home, we checked out some of our favorite–and free–lights displays. That glow on the horizon is a house on Stonehunt Place in Little Rocky Run in Centreville that is absolutely covered in lights. Another favorite is near the end of Sideburn Road (the other end from GMU).
What do you think: where are the best lights in the area?

I’ve never been to a light display in this area. Back in Michigan the owner of Domino’s pizza set up a light display called Domino’s Farm. After driving and looking at the lights, you went inside to look at different nativity displays. After that you had all you can eat pizza! Guess what kind?
For years before we moved, and for a couple years after that, Chelsea & Jillian & I used to drive around the Sterling Park neighborhood around Christmastime. People really go hog-wild with their lights; they’re awesome!
If you take 7100 N all the way to Rte 7, hang a left (going West), left again onto Sterling Blvd, nuther left onto Church Rd, and then weave in and out of the streets that go left off of Church there you’ll get to enjoy a big lights competition that they hold every year. It’s wonderful to see!
you guys should try out Bishop’s house sometime. It’s reaaaaaally cool. This house of prayer or something get together and decorate this house that a Bishop lives in. It’s amazing! I think it’s like right near the border of Maryland and D.C.
check it out next year!!
