five15 BIG MEETING on Saturday
April 11, 2007 6:46 amfive15 BIG MEETING on Saturday!
We’ve got a little change of plans: we’re going to use this meeting as a Worship & Ministry Night. The idea here is to devote our time to worshiping God, praying for one another, and using the spiritual gifts God has given us to serve one another.
You have a choice to make here: you can just show up on Saturday night and probably get something meaningful out of our time together. Or with just a small bit of preparation, you can come ready to encounter God and serve others. Here are two suggestions to prepare for the meeting:
- Read Psalms 98-100. How does God want you to worship Him? Why does God want you to worship Him?
- Read 1 Corinthians 14:1. We love others by using our gifts to serve them. Pray that God would stir up spiritual gifts (especially prophecy) in your heart and in five15.
See you Saturday night!

sniffle.
Is there still pizza and junk at 5:15???
Sounds great! Thanks for those specific prayer & prep points. It’s so easy for me to forget to pray for church, esp. five15 throughout the week. Thanks for the reminder.
Rachel,
Actually we call it Pizza & Ping-Pong, but yes, we will have it at 5:15pm!
steve
ditto on what aaron said.
thought as far as praying is concerned: my bro zach leads a prayer meeting at 6:00 before the meeting in room b01. (that’s the one right next to the help desk) if anybody wants to join us you’d be more than welcome! it’s a great way to prepare your heart to focus on God and others at the beginning of the meeting.
thanks, steve, for encouraging us to prepare. those scriptures are helpful.
can’t wait! i’ve been wanting to ask if we could have one of these (just for the teens & their parents) ever since the youth retreat… and now we are.
I always love the worship and ministry nights! The extended times of worship really enable me to focus more on the words of the songs, rather than just mindlessly sing them.
This was a really good idea!
