The news reports are calling it the worst mass murder in U.S. history. Today, 32 people were killed and many wounded by an as-yet unnamed gunman. This is a horrible tragedy and we must pray for the families of the victims.
We would do well to ask God to comfort these families with His Holy Spirit, to thank God that we have been spared such suffering, to ask God to prevent future attacks like this, and to use these tragic circumstances as an opportunity to proclaim the gospel and advance the kingdom.
See John Piper’s list of ways to minister to those who are suffering.
