five15 BIG MEETING on Saturday

June 6, 2007 1:01 pm

There are no not-so-big meetings in June or July, but we have BIG MEETINGS on July 7 and THIS Saturday night, June 9. Joe Lee is coming over from Covenant Life Church to speak to us about prayer! For those of you who remember Joe’s message on prayer three years ago, don’t be concerned, this is a different message. I’m confident that the Lord is going to meet us as we learn how to pray that God’s kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

You know the drill: Pizza and Ping-Pong start at 5:15, and the meeting will get going at 6:30.

Please pray:

  • that God will speak to us through his Word
  • that we will worship in Spirit and truth
  • for courage to reach out to people you don’t know
  • for clear conviction and ways to apply this message

Oh hey, I remember when he came last time, I think I still have one of those cards that he handed out…it was a good message.

Are you giving out Moleskines again at the youth retreat?

Hi Steve!

I had a few questions about the Old Rag hike on the 30th. . . I heard that we were going to be meeting at the church at 8:00? Do you know if we’ll be going up the regular trail, or going up the really fun rock climbingish way?

(And yes, I know I’ve graduated! :) But I can still come, right?)

Rachel,
Of course you can come!
I think the “trail” you are referring to is the fire road. The rock climbingish way is the actual trail to the top. I recommend taking the trail up—you’re right: it’s more fun—and coming down on the fireroad since by then we’ll be tired and sore.

Cool — thanks Steve!

Yeah, whenever I’ve hiked it with people, we’ve gone up the rocks and down the fire road. Then we stop at one point on the fire road and wade in the stream to rest and cool off–lots of fun!
