Retreat Highlights

Here is a Top Ten list of my Retreat07 highlights:

  1. Preaching God’s Word and hearing it preached by Mark and Vince. There is nothing I would rather do.
  2. Humility on display: people serving all over the place and encouraging one another for it every morning. I particularly enjoyed seeing so many parents and teens serving together.
  3. Meditating together on Psalm 145 and Psalm 150. Let’s pour forth the fame of His abundant goodness!
  4. Worship & ministry night. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard five15 worship the Savior together so passionately.
  5. “Peeps in the hood”.
  6. Family discussions. Even though my family wasn’t there, I love to see parents and teens experience fellowship and grow together!
  7. Ultimate frisbee: I just can’t get enough.
  8. Jonny & Sara’s testimonies.
  9. Mellow Yellow vs. Green Giants vs. Blue Bonnets vs. Santa’s Redneck Tide.  You had to be there.
  10. Massanetta Springs. What an upgrade!
  11. AND A BONUS: Kline’s Dairy feast: watching all my friends enjoy the world’s best milkshake!

What about you? What were your highlights?

1. The message about crucifixion.
2. My quiet times every morning, once on the “altar” and then in front of the cross.
3. The sunrise every morning at 6:30ish.
4. W&M night
5. Having my friends there 24/3 (not really 24/7, since we were there for 3 days)
6. Getting spiritually refreshed
7. Spending time with my dad
8. two words: water fights!
9. Mr. Lewis playing the bagpipes
10. Getting to know my room-mate, Heelena, whom I had never spent much time with before.

Deff not in order. But all of them were amazing!! Can’t wait for next year…
oh yeah, and Santa’s redneck tide? What in the world?!

Note: Blue bonnets doesn’t refer to my family. In-fact, we weren’t on the team…XP

Anyways, highlights? Basically every worship session. It was just a great experiance to be worshipping God with so many people around you worshipping too. It was amazing how loud it got. IOf that’s what it’slike worshipping with all you guys, how much greater will it bein Heaven with millions of other people?

Another highlight would be the discussion time with my family. On a regular basis, we would never get together to talk about the message or even about Christianity in general. It was just really great to just sit down for 30-45 minutes and discuss stuff.

Fellowshipping with everyone was great. Be it playing checkers, playing the games, talking to each other during meals; it was always really good.

I could go on, but to sum it all up, every moment of the retreat was a highlight. It is a great feeling to be around other believers.

I could go on

Your highlights are great and they are some of my favorites as well. Another one for me was sitting by the spring stream before the last session and praying. I was thinking of the “streams of living water” the Lord says he will give us and I asked for a refill. The teaching was my favorite part though. God has become bigger in my heart and more real. Meditation will become a part of my daily devotions.

A definite highlight for me was just plain having fellowship with other believers. There were so many godly Christian guys and girls, and it was such an encouragement for me to be around them.
Another highlight was being able to get up early in the mornings and spend my quiet time outside–it was soooo beautiful! And then being able to run afterwards and enjoy God’s creation, what’s cooler?

These aren’t in any particular order:

1. Getting away from everything, and concentrating on the one thing that will last. My relationship with my Savior.
2. Talking with people that I don’t get to normally.
3. Meditating.
4. Worshiping with my friends, and family.
5. Watching the younger kids, especially Clark Dean, worshiping God with such passion. That really made my day…
6. Hearing five great messages, preached by 3 great pastors. Thanks Steve, Mr. Mullery, and Mr. Hinders…
7. Being filled with the Holy Spirit.
8. Getting prayed for, and also praying for other people.
9. 3-Legged Kickball, FINALLY!
10. Worship and Ministry Night. Always a highlight.
10.5. Klines.

Being able to hear God’s word preached and then respond in worship to Him was probably the greatest highlight for me!

Gathering at the hotel lobby to talk and play games was also great.

Worshipping God with my family and friends was so cool. The messages were great, the games were fun, and the fellowship was amazing. I loved having my quite time outside.
BTW, we were the Yellow Jackets, not the Mellow Yellow.
