I was just coming on to comment on the Crossway entry and now I see you are on a new topic...I've watched large portions of this gripping series every night (inbetween getting kids to bed) and am taping it. This is my favorite period in history, and it never fails to amaze and humble me when I reflect on the sacrifices of those who fought and died during WWII so that tyranny could be halted and future generations could experience freedom. (It also makes me wonder how history will finally record our current struggles in Iraq! Only God, Who knows the beginning from the end, can say.) The haunting strains of the closing song, "Let it be said of me, when this life is through, America, America, I gave my best for you" linger in my mind...would I have the courage to give my life for my country or for the sake of the gospel? By God's grace--I pray I would.
