Rocket Takes Off This Saturday
January 9, 2008 4:18 pm
7th and 8th graders who are signed up for Rocket, this post is for you! By now you should have received a letter from me with some more details about when and where Rocket is getting started. I can’t wait! A couple things I want you to remember:
- Please pray! Pray that God will meet us by making His Word clear to us. Pray that He will grant conviction of sin. Pray that we’ll love Jesus more! Pray for the presence of the Spirit.
- Come ready to reach out. Remember the five15 Challenge! Think ahead about how you can reach out to peeps you may not know
- Bring your Bible and a pen. A small notebook isn’t a bad idea, either.
- Dress wisely. We’ll be spending a lot of time sitting on the floor, and weather permitting, we’ll play some games outside. So wear something that is warm, comfortable, and a little bit grungy. We’ll be taking our shoes off to protect the Yee’s house, so don’t wear holey socks if you’re embarrassed by that sort of thing.
Other important details:
- Come on time! We start promptly right at 9am! No joke! If you would like some donuts, juice, and coffee, plan on arriving at 8:45am. Remember: the early bird gets the jelly-filled!
- We’re providing lunch.
- We’ll be done by 4pm.
See you Saturday morning!

jelly filled? puh-leaz, colossal donuts with chocolate frosting and sprinkles are soooo much better.
This will be fun, I can’t wait to see how God works in the younger generation. Hopefully, this will be a life-highlight for them.
p.s. Steve, hate to inform you, but Cinnamon-Apple-Filled donuts is where it’s at…
Man! I’ve been looking forward to this all week (actually, for the past several weeks). I’m totally physced.
And guys, I don’t want to be judgemental, but bagels are far superior to donuts.
I have been looking forward to this since September (when I first heard about it) and am SO happy that it is FINALLY here! Thank you SO much for doing this for us, Steve! I (at least) REALLY apreciate this!
I agreee with Jonny, Cinamon-Apple-Filled donuts ROCK!
never tried cinnamon apple….sounds good….
I also am really looking forward to this. I just keep thinking how good it would have been for me to have something like this when I was in middle school and so, I’m so excited for all of y’all to get to do this. Rocket will be a blast! HAHA…I love being cheesy.
I’m really excited for all the middle schoolers! Though I must say I’m pretty jealous–none of us highschoolers ever got a retreat when we were in middle school. :[
I’m with Caroline on the donut issue…choco with sprinkles is the best. ever. But cinnamon apple donuts are also pretty good.
I’ll go with cinnamon apple ;-P
Yeah I think this really is going to be fun, and hopefully, a great even in which the middle-schoolers grow in their relationships with God and parents.
I’ll have to agree with Caroline though, chocolate donuts w/ (has to be rainbow) sprinkles are way better. No jelly please.
oh yeah, DEFINATELY rainbow sprinkles.
