Coming Soon: Lu

Looked Upon (Lu for short) is the latest music offering by Sovereign Grace. Performed by the New Attitude band, led by Devon Kauflin (son of Bob), and produced by Jeremy White (Asleep in the Storm), this is a contemporary take on old hymns, with a couple original songs for good measure.

Here you’ll find new great arrangements of songs we already know and love (God Over All; Ransomed) as well as songs you may have never heard before. The theology these songs convey is powerful, the music original and rich. My favorites so far are the contemplative “My Lord I Did Not Choose You” and “All I Have Is Christ”. Where else do we get to sing of God’s electing grace and regenerating power in such lyrically compelling and musically rich ways?

The CD is available for download, and I’m sure we’ll have it in our bookstore soon.

If you’re interested, the New Attitude website features an interview in two parts with Devon and Jeremy. Read Part 1 and Part 2.

haha, mark, very funny.

this is a great album. “nail my glory” is by far my favorite song. the lyrics are so doctrinally rich they put you in awe of what you are singing about. i can’t listen to these songs passively, i have to worship when they play. of course, that may have something to do with the fact i just got back from na …. irrdisregardless, this is an excellent album, every song of which moves you to worship the God who loves us so much that He would not only justify us, but adopt us.

buy it. put it on your ipod. listen to it. worship. be in awe of God.

This album is amazing. Buy it. It’s pretty much all of the songs we sang at Na, and a few others. Like Mo said, you can’t listen to it without involuntarily worshiping!

BTW, that “mark” up there is an imposter…

This album is very good, organic and natural.
If you’re looking for rock music this isn’t your album.
If you’re looking for cross centered lyrics, creative music and random album artwork this album is for you!

I too found that the lyrics are so God- centered and rich that all I could think of is worshipping God. What a blessing to have different styles of cross-centered music being produced by Sovereign Grace Music!

I hear the songs are really good and I think we sang some last Sunday. I really want to get it when it comes out in the bookstore.

BTW - does anyone know when it’ll be in the bookstore?
