Retreat Countdown: 7 Days

One week to go. If you are registered for the retreat, you should be getting a letter in the mail from me today or tomorrow with all the details you will need for the retreat. Here are the goods, in case you lose the letter:
The five15 Retreat is almost here. I can’t wait. We’ve prayed a lot and planned a lot, and I am confident that the Lord has wonderful things in store for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you for setting aside the time and money to come on the retreat. That speaks loudly of your passion for the Savior and your desire to grow.
There are a few things I want you to know in preparation for the retreat:
- Please pray! Pray that God will meet us by making His Word clear to us. Pray that He will grant conviction of sin. Pray that we’ll love the gospel more! Pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit. Pray for Mike McKinley, Mark, Vince, and I as we prepare to speak.
- Come ready to reach out. Remember the five15 Challenge! Think ahead about how you can serve, encourage, and include people from our youth ministry you may not know.
- Pack wisely. Please plan ahead to serve others with your clothes: plan on bringing clothes that are modest and don’t draw undue attention to yourself. I’ll post a packing list tomorrow.
A couple other IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- Registration begins Wednesday, August 20 at 3:30pm.
- Dinner on Wednesday starts at 6:00pm, first session at 7:30pm.
- Directions to Massanetta Springs Conference Center are enclosed. Or, see: www.massanettasprings.org. Plan on about 2 hours driving time (120 miles) from Fairfax if there is no traffic. Don’t miss Kline’s Dairy Bar in Harrisonburg on your way down! It’s only slightly out of your way (get directions). I recommend the peanut butter chocolate milkshake.
- Cell phone coverage at Massanetta Springs is fair. There are landlines, but you will need a calling card. If you want to leave an emergency number for family, refer to Massanetta’s website. But please don’t call this number unless it is an emergency.

Wow. Another retreat. I am praying for all of you. Hope that you all leave more in awe with who God is, and what He has done for you. I expect to hear some great stories of how God moved.
