Greetings. I’m Steve, and I want to welcome you to the five15 blog. If you want to know more about five15, I’d love to tell you about it. In the meantime, a little bit about your host and blogger:

If you are a part of five15, you probably know at least as much about me as you care to know, from my strange culinary tastes, to my love for words and wildlife. If you’re not a part of five15, here’s the short version:

I have the immense privilege and joy of leading five15, the parent-teen ministry of Sovereign Grace Church, a church of which I’ve been a part since 1992. I was born in 1977 in Charleston, SC, and not much happened in my life until sometime in the winter of 1996-1997, when God stopped me from my sprint towards hell and caused me to live no longer for myself but for Him. September 16, 2000 was the happiest day of my life (except for every day since): that was the day Nicole said I do and became my bride. In 2003, God gave us a curly-haired wonder named Jack. His beautiful little sister Tori arrived on the scene in April, 2007.

Beyond that, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t have any pets. I’ve never named my car. I’ve only lived in seven states. I love playing golf, although it’s perplexing that someone who is so bad at a game can so enjoy it. I’m pretty much a normal guy who is wildly passionate about serving Jesus Christ, building up the church, and preaching the gospel.
