five15 not-so-big meeting on Saturday

April 23, 2008 3:11 pm

REMINDER: Saturday is a five15 not-so-big meeting.  In case you’ve forgotten, it’s not-so-big because it is for 9th-12th grade students and their parents.

Our special guest will be Kenneth Maresco, and he’s going to help us think biblically about the internet, Facebook, MySpace, text messaging, and other forms of electronic communication.

After his message, we’ll have some Q&A with Kenneth, so if you have questions you’d like to get answered, leave a comment or send me an email.

Like usual, pizza and ping-pong starts at 5:15pm, and the meeting starts at 6:30.  See you then!

Prince Caspian, May 17

caspian.pngWe announced at the last five15 Meeting that we are going to go see Prince Caspian together. This is a semi-official event. We are not organizing a group ticket purchase, but we are encouraging anyone who wants to go with us to buy advance tickets for opening day. Here are the details of when and where:

  • WHO: five15, plus all comers (a GREAT Each One Reach One opportunity)
  • WHEN: Saturday, May 17, 7:00pm
  • WHERE: Fairfax Corner 14 Cinema deLux
  • TICKETS: Buy them here.

Act fast. I would expect this showing to sell out in a hurry.

Attention Seniors!

March 26, 2008 6:29 am

Seniors, Dan asked me to remind you that you are invited to Crossroads tomorrow night for your first ever caregroup meeting. You are the guests of honor, and this meeting is all about introducing you to Crossroads and helping you get acclimated to a new group. The details are:

Thursday, March 27, 7:30pm

You should have received an email from Dan, which explains:

This new season of your life will be one of the most important of your lives, where you will be making some of the biggest decisions of your life. Our goal in the college ministry is to help you remember Jesus Christ and his saving work on the cross so that you can passionately love and follow him as you treasure him above everything else in the world. We believe that if you are passionately pursuing Christ then you will be headed in the happiest of all directions.

five15 BIG MEETING on Saturday

March 6, 2008 4:27 pm

five15 BIG MEETING tomorrow night!  I can’t wait.  A couple important things to keep in mind:

  1. Dean Adamek will be visiting with us to tell us about Rancho 3M.  If you have questions about life at the Ranch, leave a comment.
  2. A five15 first: we’ll be taking a special offering for Rancho 3M.  If you want to participate, please plan ahead.
  3. We’ll be praying for the students and parents going to Mexico next week.

See you Saturday night.

A Special Guest

March 1, 2008 3:36 pm

ademekfamily.jpgNext Saturday at the five15 BIG MEETING, we are going to host Dean Adamek, the Director of Rancho 3M. I’m going to spend a chunk of the meeting interviewing Dean about what life is like at a Mexican orphanage and how five15 makes a difference every time we go and serve the Ranch.

I want you guys to be able to participate in a meaningful way: I’d like for you to be able to ask Dean any questions you have about life on the Ranch. It will help if we can get those questions in advance.

So what are your questions? What do you want to know about life on the Ranch and about how groups like ours make a difference in the lives or orphans?

Hey everybody!

There’s been some confusion about this, so I want to be sure that you got the message: I’ve changed the 2/23 not-so-big meeting to a BIG MEETING. So middle school students and your parents, please plan on coming!

Come for Push Back Part 4 on the Internet with a special breakout session for parents. See you Saturday night.
